The first thing I just want to say to you and to your viewers is how much I value and our government values the contributions of caregivers.
I want to tell them that there is good news on the way. The first and most important thing that I want to tell everyone is that we are not only getting back to our pre-COVID-19 processing times, we are going to be even faster. And so for everybody who is waiting for a notification, news is coming.
The first thing we are in the midst of doing is reaching out directly to caregivers to ensure them that we know that they have submitted their applications so that we have it, the second thing that we are doing specifically is that I have invested more resources to add more people to process those applications and the third thing is that I am directly engaging with caregivers all the time.
We plan to welcome three times as many caregivers this year as we did last year. and we are committed to allowing people who are in Canada, who are already contributed things and that include caregivers naturally, families, elderly, young children with the opportunity to stay.
We are very grateful for everything that you give to our families, right across the country we see you, we care about you and we will find ways to provide you with a pathway to stay in Canada.
